Kelsey Schenck

Biography

Kelsey Schenck is a PhD student in the Learning Sciences area working with Mitch Nathan. Prior to attending UW-Madison, she worked as middle school mathematics teacher. She graduated with a B.S. degree in Math/Science Education with a minor in mathematics from Texas A&M University. In 2016, she received a M.Ed degree in Curriculum Design from the University of Texas-Arlington. Her primary area of research is spatial ability and spatial anxiety. More specifically, she studies how students’ mathematics ability could be affected by their anxiety about mental manipulation of objects and possible embodied interventions for this anxiety.
